Length of time at CCNB: Nearly a year
Reason corpsmember was selected: Robert was selected because he has grown so much with this program. With educaiton, he is here for not only the mandatory 2 days after school and education day, but an additional day during the week. Work wise, he has worked various jobs, so his knowledge of the work we do is very helpful for the newer members of the crew. Great attendance and he has not been written up for anything in quite some time. Currently, he is in the works to be a driver with this program.
Leadership roles at CCNB: Field Education Facilitator. His supervisor feels that he might be ready for an Assistant Crew Leader position soon.
Skills training received at CCNB: Sawyer I and II, brush cutter, polesaw
Favorite project: Building a fence at Tolay
Favorite educational component: History
Favorite aspect of working at CCNB: Working every day outside
What did Corpsmember do before joining CCNB? Worked in a warehouse for a year
Why they joined CCNB: To get a high school diploma and find a career
Future plans: Work for an agency like the Sonoma County Water Agency or for the City of Cotati
How CCNB has changed their life: It changed him into a better person. He has learned a lot aof things like how to use a chainsaw.
Life lessons learned: Keep working hard and it will pay off.
Advice for young people: Work hard! CCNB will help you get a great career.
