Length of time at CCNB: 8 1/2 months
Reason corpsmember was selected: Joey is very reliable. He has excellent attendance and often stays late to help out. He goes above and beyond our expectations. He takes it upon himself to complete tedious tasks and is always looking out for others' safety.
Leadership roles at CCNB: He is next in line for Safety Officer.
Skills training received at CCNB: He has been training on the hedge trimmer, weed wacker, and 1230 Vermeer woodchipper. He is also being trained on the chainsaw and can't wait to learn more!
Favorite project: His first three weeks cutting out blackberry with the hedge trimmer, before a bee stung him in the eye.
Favorite educational component: Joey really likes how the teachers come out in the field and are willing to get dirty.
Favorite aspect of working at CCNB: The different types of personalities and people, and just how well they get along.
What did Corpsmember do before joining CCNB? He did body modification art.
Why they joined CCNB: He didn't have a job and needed direction.
Future plans: Joey would like to join the military and do interpretation and communication.
How CCNB has changed their life: It has made him more patient.
Life lessons learned: Patience, listen, watch for things that would be unsafe areas.
Advice for young people: Just sit, watch what they want you to do because it will help one way or another.
Most important thing learned: If things don't go the way you want them to, don't worry, there's something else happening that needs to get done.
