December 2008 Corpsmember of the Month
Jorge Garcia
Supervisor: Tucker Kelley, Natural Resources Crew Supervisor/ David Frazier, Ranger Apprentice Program Supervisor
Crew: Natural Resources Crew 5 / Ranger Apprentice Program
Reason corpsmember was selected: Jorge’s participation in CCNB’s education component has been exemplary. Upon receiving his high school diploma through our charter school he enrolled in classes at the College of Marin, where he currently studies art. Jorge is a fantastic example of how our corpsmembers can use the organization as a springboard for success. In the field Jorge has served as both Field Education Facilitator and Assistant Crew Leader, one of CCNB’s most coveted field leader positions. In three months as Jorge’s supervisor he never missed a day. He now is honing his technical skills in CCNB’s Ranger Apprentice Program, on a crew now composed entirely of former corpsmembers of the Month!
