Length of time at CCNB: 9 months
Reason corpsmember was selected: Gretchen has an outstanding attendance record and a very strong work ethic. She continually provides high-quality work and demonstrates a desire to improve her skills. She possesses wonderful, positive leadership skills and is more than willing to take new corpsmembers under her wing.
Skills training received at CCNB: Along with her team mates, Gretchen has received First Aid/CPR, Community Emergency Response, and Shelter Operator training and taken courses in Conflict Resolution, wild land fire fighting, and fish ladder repair. She has earned Sawyer I and II, and Chipper certificates.
Leadership roles at CCNB: Gretchen is Safety Officer of her crew.
Favorite project: She especially enjoyed the rerouting of the Olema Rift Zone Trail, a project undertaken to protect the habitat of the coho salmon.
Favorite educational component: Wild land fire-fighting.
Favorite aspect of working at CCNB: Gretchen appreciates the opportunity to work outside in beautiful places and enjoys the camaraderie on her team.
Future plans: Hopes to continue in the conservation field working with wildlife.
