Corps-to-Career program – just the FAQs.
What is the Corps-to-Career program?
The Corps-to-Career (CtC) department supports corpsmembers during their time at CCNB and prepares them for successful jobs and careers after they have left.
The CtC coordinator meets with corspmembers individually as soon as they are accepted into the program. At this time, you will establish your goals and agree on the steps to meet them. At intervals throughout your time at CCNB, you will revisit your goals and monitor your progress toward them. See the Corps-to-Career timeline.
How can CtC help me if I have a problem at CCNB?
It depends on the problem. For some problems the CtC staff will be able to advise corpsmembers on what to do. However, for issues that require professional expertise, the staff will refer the corpsmember to an appropriate outside agency.
Will CtC get me a job when I leave CCNB?
Corps-to-Career is a job readiness program. The professional staff works with corpsmembers to build the skills necessary to find good jobs, get good jobs and keep good jobs. These skills include:
- Job search
- Resume & cover letter writing
- Interviewing
- Developing productive attitudes and behaviors
- Understanding employer expectations
We believe that it is more important for you to learn how to research and apply for jobs than to find your next job for you. We will give you appropriate leads and guidance as you look for employment. We guarantee you will be better prepared than before you joined us. CCNB's Next Career Fair [PDF]
What if I want to go to college or vocational school?
Corps-to-Career will help you choose the right program for you. If you decide you need further education to reach your career goals we'll work with you to make those goals a reality.
How long can I work with the CtC department?
Corps-to-Career will offer support and advice to corpsmember alumni for two years after completion of the CCNB program. Corpsmembers who are terminated involuntarily lose access to these privileges.
